RIGHTEOUS 39
POINTS OF UNITY

During the winter of 2025-2026 the Trump administration deployed a federal force of over 3,000 armed agents to the Minneapolis/St. Paul Minnesota metro to rapidly expand its immigration enforcement campaign under the title “Operation Metro Surge”. In conducting these operations, masked armed agents were documented engaging in racial profiling, harassment, surveillance, and unlawful arrests and detention of neighbors, constitutional observers and protestors. This included agents shooting Julio Sosa-Celis in a home, and murdering two citizens in the streets of Minneapolis. Armed agents actions and presence created perpetual terror within neighborhoods and community. Eleven days after federal agents murdered Minneapolis mother, Renee Good, community joined the January 18th service at Cities Church where David Easterwood, the five state regional Acting Director for ICE serves as a Pastor. This action the day prior to MLK day, called out the hypocrisy and demanded accountability of the overseer of ICE enforcement in MN also being an overseer of a Christian congregation. Within hours, leaders in the Trump administration began a media campaign against 39 protestors. Six days later US Agents executed Alex Pretti. To date, no charges have been brought against federal agents for killing people. Over 500 protestors have been charged with felonies. United, we defendants agree on the following points of unity: ● We will support decisions individual defendants make, so long as they do not directly counter the following principles: ● We will not cooperate against any of our codefendants, nor accept any plea deals that cooperate with prosecutors at the expense of other codefendants. ● We will share information, resources, and strategy when possible and beneficial. We will not say anything publicly or privately that has the possibility of harming individual defendants or defendants as a group. ● We will continue our duty to support and defend civil rights of the most oppressed and vulnerable people in America. Protest and civil disobedience

is not meant to be comfortable.

When actions are ineffective, organizers escalate to reach decision-makers. This protest did exactly that. It reignited the national conversation about accountability for Renee Good
